Koozie Dimensions & Print Area: Can Cooler Size Guide

There is no single standard koozie size

“Koozie” is commonly used for an insulated drink sleeve, but products differ in material, construction and intended container. A collapsible sleeve for a standard 12 oz can is not interchangeable with a bottle cooler, a tall-can sleeve or a rigid can holder. Check the exact product listing or its template before ordering artwork; do not assume one measurement fits every cooler.

Example: printable area on a 12 oz can cooler

Custom Ink lists its foldable foam can cooler as fitting a standard 12 oz can, and gives a 3.75-inch-wide by 3-inch-high imprint area for that product. Its neoprene example uses a 3-by-3-inch imprint area per side. These are product-specific print specifications, not a universal koozie size chart. Always follow the imprint template supplied for the exact model and printing method.

How to size a koozie decal

For a decal or custom design, first identify the exact cooler model and whether the artwork goes on a flat panel or around a curved sleeve. Measure the usable panel width and height, then keep text and key artwork inside the supplier’s safe area. Avoid seams, edges and folds. If the cooler stretches around a can, test the artwork while it is fitted as intended; a flat measurement alone may not show how the design will look in use. For printed orders, use the vendor’s supplied template rather than enlarging the design to the full panel.

Before you order

Check the listed beverage fit, the assembled cooler dimensions if provided, and the maximum imprint dimensions. For multiple sizes or materials, ask whether each model has a different template. Approve a proof at the final size before production, especially when small text, a wraparound design or edge-to-edge artwork matters.
