Arena Football Field Dimensions

The Indoor Football League’s 2024 rulebook specifies a regulation field 50 yards long by 28 yards wide (150 × 84 feet). It describes the end zones as 8 yards deep. The rulebook also allows the field to be longer, shorter, or wider with league approval to fit the venue.

These are IFL rules, not a universal measurement for every indoor or arena football league. For comparison, see our American football field dimensions guide for the NFL-style outdoor field. IFL 2024 Rule Book.

Indoor football is designed for arenas with different floor plans. The IFL rulebook explicitly permits approved variations to fit a facility, so use the playing venue’s or league’s specific field plan when an exact measurement matters. Keep the playing-field dimensions separate from any safety area or surrounding boards.
