One acre contains the combined area of two half-acre areas or four quarter-acre areas. The half-acre guide shows possible dimensions for half this total; the quarter-acre guide covers a smaller reference.
A 0.1-acre area is exactly 4,356 square feet, or about 404.69 square meters. As one simple shape, it could be a 66 × 66-foot square. That is 40% of a quarter acre.
One acre is also one-tenth of ten acres. See 10 acres visualized for that larger reference.
As a hypothetical footprint comparison, a 2,000-square-foot building footprint occupies about 4.59% of one acre. Subtracting it leaves 41,560 square feet outside the footprint, which is not automatically all backyard or usable open space.
Combined floor area and ground footprint are different measurements. A multistory home's stated area should not be subtracted from a lot area without checking which figure describes the ground covered.
